Victoria is a professional belly dancer based in Ealing, West London. A chance finding of a flyer in a community centre in Leeds began her journey into belly dance. Initially, it was a more stimulating alternative to the gym but she then became captivated by the music and rich culture. She continues to train with belly dancers of MENAHT (Middle East, North Africa, Greek (Hellenic), Turkish) origin to refresh her repertoire with the latest techniques and trends and to give authenticity to her dance. Victoria also travels to the Mediterranean and North Africa to connect with the origins of the dance and is a regular visitor to Cairo, where she has performed with live orchestras.
Since relocating to London, Victoria has performed with The Arab Quarterly performance group in Islington and Hoxton under the direction of Melanie Norman. The Arab Quarterly was London's foremost live Arabic music event. She also performed regularly in London at Sarah Malik's Arabic Night in Stratford. Victoria has also performed in theatrical belly dance shows including Cairo Carousel in Newcastle and Rags to Riches in London. Additionally, Victoria has danced belly dance competitively in the UK, Italy and the Ukraine at various belly dance festivals and won first place with a Basrawi style duet at Inanna International Iraqi Dance Festival. Her professional clients have included Burlington Estates in Mayfair and the UK Malayalee Cricket League. Her career highlights so far have included performing at NASDAQ and the Houses of Parliament.
Victoria has trained extensively in the Egyptian style and can perform the classical and modern Egyptian oriental (raqs sharqi) styles, along with various folkloric styles that a belly dancer would typically perform including baladi, Alexandrian and saidi. For added flair and variety, Victoria can perform with props including veils, Isis wings, sword, candle tray, LED fan veils and cane. Victoria is also trained in other regional styles including Turkish, Iraqi and khaleeji Her fun, engaging personality brings happiness and joy to any special occasion and will make your event one to remember. IMPORTANT INFO:
Victoria does not accept bookings for events that will be solely attended by men. She provides family friendly entertainment for mixed gender groups and women.
Props include silk and chiffon veils, fan veils, Isis wings, sword, LED lights, candle tray, shisha pipe and cane (assaya). Please be aware that sufficient space is required for the use of many props and all may not be suitable for your event.
